District 14 met on 12 December in Belleville with the 623 Group hosting. There were 19 GSR’s and guests in attendance. The January GSR Meeting will be hosted by the Coffee Pot Group in Shiloh. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there…..+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:
The following meeting sites will be closed during the Alkathon for the meetings specified.
The Jim B. Okawville Group has changed its meeting time from 8 pm to 7:30 pm. Meeting place and day of week remain the same.
The Monday Men Only Meeting at the 623 Group has moved downstairs and the beginning time is now 6:30 pm.
The Monday 8 pm Meeting at the OFTG is now a Joe & Charlie Tape meeting.
The Sparta 212 Club will be the site for Anon-A-Thon 2004. This will run from 24 Dec 2004 to 2 Jan 2005. The hours will be noon to 10 pm each day.
Corrections (Doug T. - 337-8451): Everything continues to go very well. The guest speaker program is working exceptionally well.
Website Committee (Rich M. - 398-2334 and Gene E. 277-9730): Rick is thanked for his contributions, services and dedication to getting the District 14 Website up and running. Effective 12 Dec 2004, Rich & Gene will be the Website Committee and will be answerable to the fellowship of District 14.
PI/LIT (Chuck G. - 337-5327): Chuck has requested another order of literature as almost all the racks the district maintains are running low once again. This has been ordered. Permission to maintain a rack at Red Bud Hospital is proceeding slowly.
Answering Svc (James H. - 271-8037): The number of calls seem to be picking up due to the holidays.
Corned Beef & Cabbage in 2005: The CB&C will be held on 19 Mar 2005. This is now etched in stone. Richard B. is the chairman. Johnnie S. will again be doing the cooking. Gene E. & Greg B. will be procuring the food except for the Horseradish, which Don F. will arrange to procure.
Alkathon 2005: Steve (Hobble) H. has the smoking tent nailed down. This will all be arranged. Donations will hopefully offset the cost of the tent. The New Year’s Eve DJ expenses will be paid for by the district. The suggested donation for the dance is $3.00. Kids under 12 will be free. The groups have selected which days they will sponsor:

UPCOMING EVENTS:
The Pinckneyville Group will have its annual Christmas Party on 17 Dec 2004 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital in the Basement Conference Room. Enter on the North Side of the building. The time to eat is 7 pm and the speaker meeting begins at 8 pm. Please bring a covered dish.
There will be a New Year’s Eve Dance at the New Horizon Park (Steelworkers Hall, 2821 Broadway, Alton IL). Potluck begins at 6 pm, speaker meeting at 7 pm, and dance from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Tickets in advance are $8.00 and $10.00 at the door. No children please. For more info, call Dave T. at 258-8685.
The St Jacob Group will be having their 12th Anniversary potluck on 26 Jan 2005 at the United Church of Christ in St Jacob. The eating will commence at 7 pm and the speaker will start at 8 pm. The speaker is Jon K. of Edwardsville IL.

The March 2005 Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by Dist 6 on 6 Mar 2005 in North Pekin IL at the Chateau on the Lake at 901 Chateau Drive. Registration begins at 7:30 am. Call Mike at (309) 645-6840 for more info.
The 8th Annual Little Egypt Roundup will be held 6-8 May 2005 at the Horizon Inn and Conference Center (soon to be Best Western University Plaza) in Carbondale Illinois; located at 800 East Main.
