NOTES FROM THE MEETING:
The Shiloh Coffee Pot Group will be CLOSED on 25 Dec 2005 and 1 Jan 2006 in observance of Christmas and New Years.
The Wades Square Group now meets at Union United Methodist Church located at 721 East Main St in Belleville.
(Please park in the back, up the hill & use the rear double door entrance ... Thanks)
Answering Svc (Ethereal T. 233-7104): Ethereal talked again with Todd S. up in District 18. Todd is still working to get this program up and running. Hopefully, all will be ready to go by the middle to end of October. More later
.
Corrections (Doug T. 337-8451): Attended the State Corrections Conference in Bollingbrook IL. 172 people attended. Several out of state speakers and/or attendees. One item that surfaced is that Illinois AA does not have a good working relationship with the State of Illinois Correction Division. Fact: Most of the prisons in Illinois are in the southern part of the state and yet the majority of AA people live in the northern portion of the state. Less people to get enthused about Correctional Service Work in the southern part of Illinois is a result. It was noted that the prisons in Northern Illinois seem to be less strict in allowing people inside the prisons than in the southern part of the state. Lots of good ideas exchanged on how to present the message to inmates. Prisoners seem to get more out of AA meetings than any other type of meeting held within the prison(s).
Treatment Facilities: (Udell G. 332-2414): Udell said that the 4th Sunday is open for a group to host a meeting. All other Sundays are covered. Please give Udell a call if your group can host a meeting on the 4th Sunday of each month.
Where & When (Gene E. 277-9730): New W&Ws have been handed out at the October GSR meeting. If you need them,
give Gene a call.
Chuck G. resigned as PI Chairman. The demands of his job have overcome his ability to participate in service work; i.e., a reduced workforce has resulted in the remaining people working many more hours and being on call.
The Cathedral Grade School has been reserved for the 2006 Corned Beef & Cabbage. The date is tentatively scheduled for 18 March 2006. More later
.
The usage of the Cathedral Grade School facilities is going to change. A preschool facility has relocated to the auditorium and this room has become a do not disturb under any circumstances. NO ENTRY BY ANYONE!!! It was decided at the GSR Meeting that the cafeteria will be cleared to allow a dance to be held immediately following dinner. This will be the same for the Corned Beef & Cabbage.
