April 2006
District 14 met on 9 April in OFallon IL with the OFallon Trailer Group hosting. There were 14 GSRs and guests in attendance. The 14 May and 11 June meetings will be held at the 623 Club but will be hosted by Dr. Bobs Group. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:
There is a new meeting at the 623 Group on Thursday at 7 pm. It is a Womens ONLY Meeting. It is closed, discussion and smoking.
A Central Services Office to serve the Metro East is located at 409 Broadway Office C-1, South Roxana IL 62048. The days and hours of operation are: Mon Sat 11 am to 7 pm. The phone number is (618) 251-4000. It is now open for usage.
Answering Svc (Ethereal T. 233-7104): ): In the process of getting the Answering Service List set up according to specific areas. Otherwise, it is going very well.
St Clair County Jail Sue S. (398-3648): Really need more women to volunteer to carry the message behind the walls. This is very rewarding for the AA member; you get to see some of the YETS in progress BUT you show the women incarcerated that there is a way out. Call Sue if you can help. You wont regret it.
2006 Corned Beef & Cabbage Tracy H. (588-3280) : Everything went superbly!!!! Attendance ranged from 200 to 400 people --- according to various sources.
2006 Corned Beef & Cabbage is tentatively scheduled for 17 March 2007. We will discuss this at a later date and then some
..
Corrections (Doug T. 337-8451): Going very well. More people are always needed in this area of service work; there are never too many volunteers. Call Doug if you feel you can do this vital area of service work.
Bridging the Gap ((Sherri L. 398-0349): Sherri has made contact with a couple of local/regional facilities to let them know how their clients can reach AA in District 14. The facilities were quite happy to learn of this service.
PI (Tom D. 282-1973) Is really getting into the swing of it. Has made an appointment with the correct personage at Kenneth R. Hall Regional Hospital (ex-St Marys) in ESL to see about what is needed to maintain and restock the literature rack there. Also, the VA Clinic in Belleville will be restocked as will St Elizabeths.
District 14 Website (Rich M. 398-2334): Going along fairly well. Rich is waiting for some items that were ordered so Rich can rebuild his computer. Website will be updated at that time.
Treatment Facilities: (Udell G. 332-2414): An individual is needed to chair the Sunday night meeting at 7 pm. Otherwise, everything is going pretty good.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
The 1st Open AA Unity Dinner & Dance will be hosted by Dist 18. All Granite City Groups are involved. The event will be held Saturday, 29 Apr 2006, at the Granite City Township Hall on 2060 Delmar Avenue in Granite City IL. The potluck will be at 6 pm, the speakers will commence at 7 pm and the dance will start at 8 pm. The DJ for the event will be Expressions. The speakers will be Camille for Alanon and Bob W. from Henderson Nevada for AA. The cost for the dance is $5 per person and kids under 12 are free. District 19 will be hosting the Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly on 11 Jun 2006 at the Route 66 Hotel & Conference Center on 625 East St Joseph St in Springfield IL. Registration is $5 and the buffet lunch is $10. For more info, call Dick B. (217-415-9333).
The District 5 Campout will be on 23-25 June 2006 at Valley View Campground at 2300 Bonansinsa Drive in Quincy IL.
