District 14 met on 20 May in Addieville with the Addieville Schoolhouse Group hosting. There were 17 GSR’s and guests in attendance. The 10 June 2007 meeting will be hosted by the Addieville Schoolhouse Group in Addieville (directions are later in the letter). The 8 July and 12 August 2007 meetings will be hosted by the Recovery-In-Brooklyn Group. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there…..

FATHER TERRY DONOVAN

Leaving us with over 29 years of sobriety.

His insight and study of the Big Book were remarkable.

He will be sorely missed by all who know him.

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:


Directions to Addieville Schoolhouse Group: Take I-64 east to the Okawville exit. You will be on IL-177, take a right onto IL-13 and go south until you get to IL-15. Take a left and go to Jefferson Road and turn left. Look for a yellow, very old schoolhouse.

Answering Svc (Ethereal T. – 233-7104): ): A phone number for AA will be listed in the Monroe and Randolph County phone books.

Where & When’s (Gene E. – 228-9108): ): Approval has been given to print 3500 copies. These should hopefully be ready in June 2007.

Corrections (Doug T. – 337-8451):

PI/Literature (Tom D. – 282-1973): A large amount of literature has been furnished to Touchette Hospital. More literature has been purchased and will be delivered. An extra literature rack will also be furnished by the Cahokia Serenity Group. NOTE: Any controversy over the furnishing of literature to a Touchette Hospital that holds AA meetings was resolved in about 10 minutes with open, frank discussion and having the right people attend the GSR Meeting.

UPCOMING EVENTS:


The O’Fallon Trailer Group will be having a picnic on Memorial Day, 28 May 2007 at 1 pm. This is immediately following the noon meeting. The picnic will be at the trailer.

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be held in Jacksonville IL on 10 June 2007 at the Hamiltons on 110 North East St in Jacksonville IL. Rooms are available at the Econo Lodge Inn. Cost is $54.89 per night (tax included). The cost of registration is $5. More later….

The East St Louis Groups Annual Picnic will be on Saturday, 16 June 2007 at Frank Holten State Park. More info later…………..

The 2nd Annual AA Unity Dinner and Dance will be held Saturday, 23 June 2007 at the Granite City Township Hall at 2060 Delmar Avenue in Granite City. The potluck begins at 6 pm, the speakers begin promptly at 7 pm. The Alanon Speaker is Valera S. from Granite City and the AA Speaker is Charlie T. from East St Louis. The dance will begin between 8 and 9 pm when the speakers have concluded. The cost of the dance is $5.

The Sparta 212 Club will have their annual anniversary part on Wednesday, 4 July 2007. More later………

The IL State Conference will be held 3-5 Aug 2007 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort in Lincolnshire IL. For reservations ($99 per night), call 847-634-0100. For more info, call Steve K. at 847-746-3479 or Ray L. at 847-336-1393.

The Annual Waterloo-Cahokia Picnic will be held on 25 Aug 2007. I have been informed that eating will commence sharply at NOON. More info later……….

The SRN IL 21 Area Assembly will be held on 9 September 2007 and will be hosted by Dist 14. It will be held at the Southern Illinois Heart Institute portion of St Elizabeth’s Hospital. There is lots of parking for the attendee’s. Rooms will be reserved at the Townhouse Motel. Lunch for the attendee’s will be catered as it is for almost every assembly. Registration begins at 7:30 am and the assembly begins at 9 am. More later….

The 2007 East Central Regional Conference will be held 12-14 Oct 2007 in Manitowoc Wisconsin. More seriously later….

The East Central Regional Forum wwill be held 9-11 Nov 2007 in Arlington Heights IL. More a whole lot later…..

The 2008 Southern Illinois Area Spring Conference will be held during the month of March 2008 in District 7. This is beyond seriously later…
