District 14 met on 12 August in Brooklyn with the Recovery-In-Brooklyn Group hosting. There were 11 GSR’s and guests in attendance. There will be no meeting held in September; therefore, no Booze News will be printed. The 14 October meeting will be hosted by the New Baden Group in New Baden. The 11 Nov and 9 Dec GSR Meetings will be held at St Elizabeth’s Hospital but will be hosted by the Sparta Group. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there…..

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:




The Monday night Big Book meeting at the King’s House has been resurrected. Unfortunately, it was deleted from the latest Where & When printing. It will be a Closed, Big Book, No Smoking meeting that begins at 7:00 pm and lasts for one hour. This resurrection will be sent to the web guru and the website will be updated.

The Grupo Sendero De Vida will be having a birthday celebration on Saturday, 19 August 2007 at their meeting location in Fairmont City. Call Eduardo R. (314) 443-1165 for more info……

UPCOMING EVENTS:


The Annual Waterloo-Cahokia Picnic will be held on 25 Aug 2007. I have been informed that eating will commence sharply at NOON. The location of the picnic is Konarcik Park in Waterloo; which is east of the town on Konarcik Road.

The SRN IL 21 Area Assembly will be held on 9 September 2007 and will be hosted by Dist 14. It will be held at the Southern Illinois Heart Institute portion of St Elizabeth’s Hospital in the Centennial Room. There is lots of parking for the attendee’s. A block of 20 rooms has been reserved at the Townhouse Motel. The cost ranges from $37 to $40. Lunch for the attendee’s will be catered as it is for almost every assembly and the cost of the luncheon is $10. Registration is $5 and begins at 7:30 am and the assembly begins at 9 am. There will be a speaker meeting on Saturday at 7:30 pm in the Centennial Room. Volunteers will be needed to man the registration table and assist with the activities. The Annual Dr. Bob’s, Wades Square & Mascoutah Group Picnic will be held on Saturday, 6 Oct 2007 at Bellevue Park at the Stone Lodge. Food sampling begins at Noon (chicken breasts & brats), speakers at 1:15 pm (or so).

The 2007 East Central Regional Conference will be held 12-14 Oct 2007 in Manitowoc Wisconsin. More seriously later….

The East Central Regional Forum will be held 9-11 Nov 2007 in Arlington Heights IL, at the Chicago Sheraton Northwest Hotel (847) 394-2000. There is no registration fee. The hours of the event will be 7 to 10 pm Friday, 9 am to 9:45 pm Saturday and 9:30 am to 12 Noon on Sunday. Topics will include: “Why should I care about AA beyond my home group?”, “AA History – Boring or incredible spiritual journey?”, and “How does support of GSO help AA’s worldwide?” and many others. More a whole lot later…..

The 2008 Southern Illinois Area Spring Conference will be held during the month of March 2008 in District 7. This is beyond seriously later…
