District 14 met on 14 October in New Baden at the Zion United Church of Christ with the New Baden Group hosting. There were 25 GSRs and guests in attendance. The 11 Nov GSR Meeting will be held at St Elizabeths Hospital but will be hosted by the Sparta Group. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:
New GSRs: Sean C. Gods Corner; Connie S. (304-7557) - Sparta Sunday 2pm Group & Judy M. (624-9121) Dr Bobs Group.
Judy M. (624-9121) is the new District 14 Secretary. She was elected by acclamation after it was noticed she was taking notes. Welcome to service work!!!!
Tracy H. (588-3280) is the Chairperson of the 2007 Alkathon. Please feel free to call her with any questions you may have. If you want to volunteer your time, also please give her a call.
The OFallon Trailer Group has made a few meeting changes: 1) Tuesday Night Meeting is now a Big Book Study and runs from 6:30 to 8 pm. 2) There are new morning meetings on Mon/Wed/Fri from 7 to 8 am; these are open, discussion meetings.
Gods Corner has also made a few meeting changes: 1) The Tuesday Night Meeting is now a Big Book Study. 2) The Saturday Night Meeting is now (or again might have missed a change) a speaker meeting. 3) The Sunday Night Meeting is now a 12x12 meeting.
The Waterloo Group has made one significant change. . There is no longer a potluck on the last Wednesday of each month.
The Sparta Sunday 2pm Meeting will be having Steve S. as a speaker on 28 Oct 2007 meeting.
The Red Bud Group will be having Johnnie S. present the Big I on 23 Nov 2007. This is something that everyone should see at least once --- it is extremely good!!!!
CPC (Tracy H. 588-3280): She is going to get together with her associates to get the ball rolling very soon.
Central Service Representative (Lee W. 654-9245): CSO has appreciated all the donations. They have created newcomer packets for sale at a cost of about $1 each. People are needed to volunteer to answer the phones. There are lots of meetings at the facility.
Grapevine (Gene E. 228-9108): GSO has three books for sale in LARGE PRINT: Language of the Heart, The Best of Bill & The Home Group: Heartbeat of AA.
Bridging the Gap (Sherri L. cell 618-604-3981): No contacts during the past two months. With all the treatment/rehab facilities in the Metro East, almost every patient/client is already set up when they leave the facility.
Answering Svc (Ethereal T. 233-7104): Ethereal is still working on the compiling the master list for the Answering Service to utilize.
Smoking Tent for the Alkathon is a go!!! The cost will be at least $60. The company AA will be using can set it up at the last moment.

The The Mississippi Valley Regional Conference will be held 26-28 Oct 2007 at the Best Value Inn in Quincy IL at 300 South 3rd St. Call 217-224-7733 for reservations.
The East Central Regional Forum will be held 9-11 Nov 2007 in Arlington Heights IL, at the Chicago Sheraton Northwest Hotel (847) 394-2000. There is no registration fee. The hours of the event will be 7 to 10 pm Friday, 9 am to 9:45 pm Saturday and 9:30 am to 12 Noon on Sunday. Topics will include: Why should I care about AA beyond my home group?, AA History Boring or incredible spiritual journey?, and How does support of GSO help AAs worldwide? and many others.
