NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

Matt G. is the new GSR for the 623 Men’s Group.  Welcome to service work!

Gordon N. is the acting GSR for Dr Bob’s East & West.  Welcome back to service work!

A new group is in Trenton at the Westgate Baptist Church, 843 West Broadway on Thursday at 7 pm.  It is a women only, discussion, no smoking meeting.

The OFTG has a new meeting on Friday at 7 pm.  Open, discussion & no-smoking.

The OFTG has revived the Saturday meeting at 7 pm.  Open, discussion & no-smoking.  The potluck will be on the 2nd Saturday at 6:30 pm with the speaker at 8 pm.

CSO (Lee W. - 654-9245):  Oct saw 130 calls to CSO and over 90 visitors.  A problem CSO is having that there are not enough women on the contact listings and when calls come in that require a woman to talk to the caller, it can be very difficult to get that caller help.  This underscores the importance of being on the contact list.  Call Lee if you can do this.  If you wish to volunteer to help man the phone at CSO, you must have one year of sobriety and/or have your sponsor vouch for you.

PI/Literature (Tom D. - 282-1973):  Tom promised to have the racks at the VA Clinic and St Elizabeth’s filled by the 8 Nov 09 meeting.  This was not done due to unknown reasons.  Tom did hand out the literature at the end of 8 Nov 09 GSR meeting to two other people who would take care of the racks.

Treatment Facilities (Donella C. – 234-2283):  Everything is doing very well.  It was established that Donella will be responsible for keeping the meetings at Gateway sponsored by groups as they had been in the past.

Website (Rich M. – 398-2334):  Revised W&W was posted on the website recently.  A number (27) of minor changes were made.

Where & When (Gene E. – 228-9108):  The revision process has begun.  Expect publication in January or February 2010.  Please email or call me with any changes you have ASAP or it may be too late……

Discussion of Prudent Reserve & Annual Budget for District 14:  This was discussed at length and then some.  Jeff S. has compiled an annual list of expenditures that the district must consider.  These were gone over one item at a time.  An annual budget was finally arrived at with all parties generally satisfied.  The prudent reserve amount was finally settled at after some sharp discussion.

Area Assembly for December 2009:  This is a go for 6 Dec 2009.  Registration begins at 7 am and the assembly begins at 9 am.  Cost for registration is $4.00 and lunch is $7.00.  The event will be held at the Centennial Room on the main floor at St Elizabeth’s Hospital at 211 South Third St in Belleville.  Rooms have been reserved at the Town House Motel (618-233-7881) at 400 South Illinois St in Belleville.  It is $39.95 for the king-sized bed and $43.20 for a double.  Mention SIA when reserving the room.  There will be a Saturday Night Meeting before the assembly at the Centennial Room at 8 pm which will be hosted by the Cahokia Serenity group.  NOTE: The Saturday night meeting of the Cahokia Serenity Group is being moved to St Elizabeth’s Hospital in the Centennial Room.  Doors for this open at 7 pm & meeting 8 pm.  Finger foods, snacks & coffee provided.  If you need more info than this, please call Chuck G.
