District 14 met on 14 Feb 2010 at the Cahokia Serenity Group in Cahokia .  There were 15 GSR’s and guests in attendance.  The 14 Mar 2010 meeting will be held at the 623 Group with Dr Bobs West as the host.  The 11 April 2010 meeting will be hosted by the O’Fallon Trailer Group in O’Fallon.  The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm.  See you there…..

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

 

The New Baden Group ceased meeting as of 12 Feb 2010.

 

The 623 Men’s Group has formally changed their name to the Gatehouse Group.

 

Corrections (Doug T. - 337-8451):  All is going well.  Still always looking for more volunteers.  You may visit once before any paperwork must be completed.  Please give Doug a call if you would like to check this out.  It is a very interesting place.

 

Central Service Office (Lee W. – 654-9245):  CSO still getting squared away.  Still need names and phone numbers for contacts. 

 

Grapevine (Gene E. 228-9108):  No report.

 

PI/Literature (Tom D. - 282-1973):  Not present.

 

Treatment Facilities (Donella C. – 234-2283):  Not present 

 

Website (Rich M. – 398-2334):  Everything is doing great & looking fine.  The website has been updated with the latest version of the Where & When.  Archives continue to be worked upon.

 

Workshop (Tom S. – 618-615-1311):  Tom has set up a workshop for the 28th of Feb 2010 at the 623 Club at 1 pm.  The workshop subject is:  Sponsorship.  There will be a panel of men and women who have done a considerable amount of sponsoring.  They will speak on the subject.  Questions will hopefully be asked with much discussion it is hoped.  Refreshments will be furnished.  Please give Tom a call for more info. 

 

St Clair County Jail: (Sue M. – 398-3648):  Not present.

 

Where & When for 2010 (Gene E. – 228-9108):  The draft W&W has been mailed to the printers.  3500 copies will be printed.  Expect receipt of the new W&W by 1 Mar 2010.

 

Corned Beef & Cabbage for 2010:  20 March 2010 is the date.  The district has made a deposit to reserve a date.  Connie S. is the chairperson this year.  Calvin H. will be getting the food and associated supplies this year.  Johnnie S. will be cooking once again.  Bill B. will be the DJ again this year.  Connie will be purchasing two new coffee pots for the event as us folks tend to go through a little bit of coffee.  At this point, we are all set.  Come join us for the event.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

 

The 29th Annual Five Corners Convention will be held 19-20 Feb 2010 in Sikeston MO at the Sikeston Armory which is located at 300 South Main St in Sikeston .  Lodging can be found at the Days Inn at 1330 South Main St in Sikeston .  Call 573-471-3930 for reservations. 

 

The 4th Annual District 10 Winter Event will be held 20 Feb 2010 in the Carpenters Local 65 Union Hall in Bloomington IL which is located at:  2002 Fox Creek Road in Bloomington .  Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.  This event costs $5 in advance or $7 at the door.  For more info, contact Linda F. at 309-242-2964.

District 15 is hosting the 7 Mar 2010 Area Assembly in Jacksonville IL.  It will be held at the Community Bldg in the Community Park , 1309 South Main St in Jacksonville IL .  Registration begins at 8 am & is $6.  The meal is Turkey with all the trimmings and is $9.  You can get a room at the Econo Lodge Inn at 1914 South Brooke Rd in Jacksonville IL .  Call 217-245-9575 for reservations.  There will be a potluck dinner & speaker meeting the night before the assembly at 314 East State St at the Club H.O.W.’s.  This will commence at 6:15 pm.  For more info, call John L. at 217-291-0329, Susan S. at 217-245-0189, Kathy W. at 217-370-7217 or Ken W. at 217-248-8515.

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Spring Conference will be held 12-14 Mar 2010 in Springfield IL.  It will be hosted by District 19.  It will be held at the Springfield Hilton at 700 East Adams .  Call for reservations at 217-789-1530.  The cost of the conference is $21 and/or the conference and banquet is $42.  For more info, call Liz B. at 217-670-2264.

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by District 4 on 6 June 2010.  More later….

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by District 18 on 11 Sep 2010 at the Moose Lodge in Edwardsville IL .  The Holiday Inn in Troy will be available for rooms at $89 per night.  The latest date for reservations is 11 July 2010.  More really later…..
