District 14 met on 11 Apr 2010 at the O’Fallon Trailer Group in O’Fallon.  There were 15 GSR’s and guests in attendance.  The 16 May 2010 GSR Meeting will be hosted by the East St Louis Group at the 623 Club. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm.  See you there…..

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

 

Waterloo Group celebrated 35 years of history on 5 April 2010.  There was a potluck and a number of speakers.  A little over 60 people attended the event.   An absolute smashing success.

 

Alateen in Maryville needs support.  Open Alateen Meeting.  Topic:  Alateen sponsorship.  Date:  Tuesday, 27 Apr 2010.  Time:  7:30 to 8:30 pm.  Place:  First Baptist Church , Rm 239, Maryville , Hwy 162.

 

Corrections (Doug T. - 337-8451):  Not Present

 

Central Service Office (Lee W. – 654-9245):  Elections were held for the CSO Offices and every position but one was filled.  The bylaws were voted upon and accepted.  A special thanks to the Wades Square Group for their assistance in recent times.  Please keep the donations and contact lists coming.

 

CPC (Calvin H. – 719-9872):  Nothing to report this month.  Calvin has received the CPC Booklet.

 

Grapevine (Gene E. 228-9108):  Nothing to report this month.

 

PI/Literature (Tom D. - 282-1973):  Not Present

 

Treatment Facilities (Donella C. – 234-2283):  Not present 

 

Website (Rich M. – 398-2334):  The website has been updated.  Looking great.

 

Workshop (Tom S. – 618-615-1311):  The next workshop is tentatively scheduled for the last Sunday in April (25th).  It will be on service work with a panel of four people who have extensive experience in service work. 

 

St Clair County Jail: (Sue M. – 398-3648):  Not present.

 

Corned Beef & Cabbage for 2010:  A whole lot of people were fed this year.  Chuck G. served for 90 minutes and the people never slowed.  There was a shortage of Corned Beef which was replaced by Beef Brisket.  We hope this will not happen in the future.  The dance was a superb success; over 100 people took part in this part of the evening.  Again the cleanup was problematic as the same group of people was tagged with it once again. 

 

Alkathon 2010:  Mike F. is the chairman for this event.  More later…..

 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by District 4 on 6 June 2010.  More later….

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by District 18 on 11 Sep 2010 at the Moose Lodge in Edwardsville IL .  The Holiday Inn in Troy will be available for rooms at $89 per night.  The latest date for reservations is 11 July 2010.  More really later…..

 

The annual Cahokia-Waterloo Picnic will be held on 20 Sep 2010.  The location is as yet undecided.  More later…..
