District 14 met on 13 June 2010 at the 623 Club & the meeting was hosted by the Gatehouse Group. There were 16 GSR’s and guests in attendance. The 11 July and 8 August meetings are to be held at an unknown location. More later. The time for all GSR Meetings remains the same at 1 pm. See you there…..

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

 

Joe S. is the new District 14 Treasurer who succeeds Jeff S. who resigned for personal reasons. The district thanked Jeff for his service and welcomed Joe into further service work.

 

Corrections (Doug T. - 337-8451): Everything is going very well. Meetings are well attended & the inmates are very serious about sobriety. Inmates are allowed to do one-on-one meetings with AA folks to do a 4th Step. After some discussion, the annual purchase of books for SWICC was approved with the dollar amount increased from $800 to $916.

 

Central Service Office (Lee W. – 654-9245): A request was forwarded via Dist 18 from SWICC requesting a large donation of books and literature. This item was again tabled until the letter is brought to the July 2010 GSR Meeting.

 

CPC (Calvin H. – 719-9872): Nothing to report.

 

Grapevine (Gene E. 228-9108): Nothing to report.

 

PI/Literature (Tom D. - 282-1973): Chuck will do a final check to see if Tom has resigned this position.

 

Treatment Facilities (Roger B. – 314-616-5886: Roger attended the workshop at the Area Assembly in Sparta. It was very good. The meetings at Gateway and St Elizabeth's are going well except for one meeting. Roger will check into this.

 

Website (Rich M. – 398-2334): Gene has updated the W&W and sent it to Rich for posting on the website. There were 54 changes made --- all in Dist 18. Gene will work on getting the email address for the St Louis AA website and send it to Rich for posting in the links section.

 

Workshop (Rich M. – 618-581-4156): No report.

 

St Clair County Jail: (Sue M. – 398-3648): Not present.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

The East St Louis Groups are planning their yearly Juneteenth Celebration on 19 June 2010 at Frank Holten State Park. The eating commences at Noon & will last until the food is all gone. Covered dishes would be greatly appreciated. Music will be provided.

 

The 623 Group will be having a picnic on 24 July 2010 in conjunction with the Gatehouse Group. It will be held at Hough Park. More info is coming.......

 

The Greenville Group is having a Picnic on 7 Aug 2010 at Patriots Park located at the intersection of Hwy 127 and Hwy 140 just north of Greenville. Fellowship will begin about 11:00 AM followed by a Pot Luck dinner at about 12:00 PM with a speaker (to be announced) at about 1:00 PM. There is fishing available in the park and also a play ground and games for young and old alike. Come join in and enjoy the fun, food and fellowship!!! Support the Greenville Group in their first venture at having this type of an event!!

 

The Southern Illinois Area 21 Assembly will be hosted by District 18 on 11 Sep 2010 at the Moose Lodge in Edwardsville IL. The Holiday Inn in Troy will be available for rooms at $89 per night. The latest date for reservations is 11 July 2010. More really later…..

 

The annual Cahokia-Waterloo Picnic will be held 25 September 2010. The location will be Cahokia Park. Probably more later......
