District 14 met on 12 June 2011 at the O'Fallon Trailer Group. There were 26 GSR’s and guests in attendance. The 10 July 2011 meeting will be held at the O'Fallon Trailer Group at 1 pm. The 14 August & 11 September meetings are tentatively scheduled to be held at the Sparta 212 Club. The Aug & Sep meetings will meet at 12 Noon. See you there…..

NOTES FROM THE MEETING:

The Recovery-In-Brooklyn Group has ceased meeting as of this date. The change will be reflected in the next printing of the Where & When plus the W&W on the District 14 Website.

God's Corner has now gone non-smoking.

Jim Shumway is the new Alt GSR of the 623 Group.

The meeting at the Eagles Nest is open to all. Just because it is at a facility which is heavily populated by veterans doesn't mean that no one else can attend. Many people have wondered if they can attend the meeting and LaWanda H. (GSR) has assured me that everyone is welcome. They would love to see you there.

Bridging the Gap (Jim S. - 618-615-9106): Not Present

Corrections (Doug T. - 337-8451 & Johnnie S. - 567-2192 & Dan G.): All is well. Volunteers are always welcome. It has been learned there is a chaplain at the St Clair County Jail that would like AA meetings inside once again. More later on this matter.

CPC (Paula E. - 910-0047, Terry S. - 979-1114 & Tracy H. - 618-974-9054): The CPC Manual & package has been located. More at the next GSR Meeting.

CSO (Chris M. - 618-975-4510): Everything is going very well. Need B-Day cards....will get them from Gene after the meeting. This was done.

Grapevine (Chuck G. - 618-520-6239): Not Present.

PI/Literature (Roger B. - 860-5970 & Tom D. - 618-340-6278): Tom talked to the folks at the Human Support Center in Waterloo & Tom will place a bunch of literature there. If racks are needed by a facility for the placement of literature, Tom can acquire these for a modest sum.

Treatment Facilities (Gordon N. - 580-1118, Pam W. - 365-5337, Louis J.- 540-0891, Keith G., Junior O., Christina W. & Willie G.): Not Present.

Website (Rich M. – 420-8242): Website is looking good. The many changes to District 7 were integrated into the W&W on-line & will be reflected in the next publication of the Where & When.

Workshop (Rich M. – 618-381-3572): Next workshop will be on 25 June 2011 at 1 pm at the 623 Club. It will be on the 1^st Three Traditions. Chris C. & Bob H. will be the panel. This will be good.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

The New Athens Group will have a potluck & speaker meeting on 14 June 2011. The eating commences at 7 pm & the speaker begins at 8 pm. The speaker will be Bill B. from St Louis MO.

The 18^th Annual Women In Recovery Camp & Float Trip will be held 24-26 June 2011 at Riverview Ranch Bourbon MO. Please note that no pets except service dogs are allowed and no kids. Costs are $47 for a tent site, $47 for a RV site plus $20 for electricity, $67 for a large cabin & $59 for a mini cabin. Call for reservations (Suze) 314-497-5747. All cabins are non-smoking!

District 14 will be presenting a Traditions Workshop on 24 June 2011 at 1 pm at the 623 Club in Belleville. There will be a short presentation on the 1^st Three Traditions by Chris C. & Ed H. which will be followed by a question & answer session. There will be finger foods for everyone. Please join us in the ongoing series of workshops presented by District 14.

The Cahokia Serenity Group will be having a potluck on 25 June 2011. The doors open at 6:30 pm, the eating starts promptly at 7 pm and the speaker begins at 8 pm.

The East Central Regional Conference will be held in Columbus Indiana on 22-24 July 2011. More a lot later....

The Illinois State Conference will be held in Skokie IL on 5-7 Aug 2011. The location will be the Holiday Inn North Shore at 5300 West Touhy Avenue in Skokie IL. For more info, call Bill W. at 312-206-0642. There will be 7 speakers from around the nation.

The annual Cahokia-Waterloo Picnic will be held on 17 Sep 2011. The location will be Konarcik Park, 104 Sauthoff Drive in Waterloo. For more info, call Ralph S. at 618-304-5690 or Doug T. at 618-337-8451.

The annual 623 Club Picnic will be held on 17 Sep 2011. The location will be Pleasant Hill Park in Belleville. More info will be made available at the next GSR meeting......

The annual Dr Bob's Picnic will be held on 24 Sep 2011. The location will be the Stone Pavilion in Bellevue Park as always. More later on this item also.

The 51^st Annual Tri-State Convention will be held 4-6 Nov 2011 in Mt Vernon IL at the Holiday Inn at 222 Potomac Blvd in Mt Vernon IL. The East Central Regional Forum will be held 11-13 Nov 2011 in Miamisburg Ohio. We hope there will be more but waayy later....
