District 14 met on 9 Dec 2017 at the 623 Group in Belleville IL & was hosted by the How It Works Group. There were 16 attendees. The 14 Jan 2018 meeting will be at the 623 Group in Belleville IL & will be hosted by the Women of Hope Group. The time of the meeting(s) remains 1 pm. Hope to see you there.

Committee Reports:

Archives: Alex C. (314.600.6569): Dist 14 is looking for old W&W’s, District newletters, Photographs, Flyers from District 14 Events to include any conferences or conventins hosted by Dist 14 and much more. If you have any questions, please call Alex at the above number.

Booze News and Where & When’s: Gene E.: W&W’s: The 1st draft was reviewed by all present at the GSR Meeting. Another review will be done at the 14 Jan 2018 GSR Meeting. BN: All is going great!!!!

Bridging the Gap: Dan G.: Not present.

Corrections: Chuck D. & Ed H.: Meetings are held on Monday & Friday. Attendance has been good at 14-16 per meeting. The SWICC coordinator says volunteer applications is taking ~6 mos; the problem(s) with getting people approved resides in Springfield. Attended the First National Corrections Conference & it was a tremendous success. The SWICC had their annual summitt meeting with inmates who have less than 6 mos or less are introduced to support services for usage upon release. Many individuals spoke to the inmates including former inmates who have had success outside the walls.

CPC: Terry L.: Not present.
CSO: Robby M.: CSO has replaced a few items of furniture & equipment as of late. Big Book sales have been phenomenal. Volunteers are always needed for working the phones – 1 yr of sobriety is needed. The next big item is the 2018 Great River Roundup in early March 2018.

Grapevine: Dennis M.: Not present

PI/LIT: Dave S.: Not Present.

Special Events: Lisa N.: The Alkathon is a go! 33 sponsorships have been arranged/paid for for the dance on New Years Eve to include 4 by the Technology Committee and 2 by the Trenton Group. Personal sponsorships are also welcomed and have been arranged for as of this writing. A PA System will be available to usage by Dist 14….this will be of great usage now & into the future.

Technology Committee: Rob C., Teresa K., Mark W., Paula E.: Rob & Teresa have been trying to get all the W&W changes posted to the Dist 14 Website. This may take awhile, but progress is being. A total of ~75 changes have to be made & it is a lot of cross-checking before a change can be done.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

The Southern Area 21 Assembly will be held on 10 Dec 2017 at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge at 7371 Marine Road in Edwardsville IL. This event is being hosted by Dist 18. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. & costs $5.00. The assembly will commence right sharply at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available & the cost is $9.00.

The Downtown Granite City Group will be having a Christmas & New Year Eve Potluck. Mtgs on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & New Year’s Eve will occur at 8 a.m., Noon, 4 p.m. & 8 p.m. Christmas dinner is to be served at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Day followed by a speaker mtg at 8 p.m. Guest speaker will be Marcellas G. from the 623 Club. Lunch will be served each day plus there will be appetizers on Christmas & New Years Eve at around 5 p.m. Breakfasts snacks will be available each morning.

The Southern Area 21 Assembly will be held on 4 March 2018 at John A Logan College at 700 Logan College Road in Cartersville IL. This event is being hosted by Dist 17. Registration begins at 8 a.m. & the cost is $5.00. The assembly will get down to business at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available & the cost will be $10.00. The 2018 Illinois State Conference will be held 17-19 Aug 2018 at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel at 4191 US Highway 36 West in Decatur IL. This event is being jointly hosted by Dist 18 & Southern IL Area 21. Pre-registration cost is $25 & after 1 Jan 2018 it will be $30. The banquet cost is $35.
