District 14 met on 18 Aug 2019 at the 623 Club. There were 29 attendees. The 15 Sep 2019 (yes, a September meeting – please note that the BN originally had the meeting on 8 Sep 2019 which was an error by the editor….my apologies) meeting will be held in Sparta IL at the Sparta 212 Club. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. as they have a 2 p.m. meeting. The 13 Oct 2019 meeting will be held in Trenton with the Trenton Group hosting. As always, the meeting starts at 1 p.m. unless so stated. Hope to see you there.

As we promised, we will publish in each issue of the BN a list of the groups/people donating to the District. Here are the 7th Tradition donations received from 16 June 2019 to the present.

Committee Reports:

Archives: Alex C.: All is going well. Alex will be attending the National Archives Convention/Conference in Sep 2019 per the Trusted Servants who voted their approval. Several items were given to Alex for inclusion into the Archives.

Booze News and Where & When’s: Gene E.: W&W’s: Two minor changes were made to the W&W & the changes were posted on the website W&W by Rob C. A very large number of W&W’s were handed out at the meeting BN: All is well.

Bridging the Gap: Dan G.: A woman from Tochette has requested assistance when she completes her treatment.

Corrections: Chuck D. – & Ed H. : The meetings are doing great. A new record attendance on a recent Friday of 17 attendees was set. One more person is almost totally approved to go into the facility.

CPC: Eric O.: Talked to Union Contractors who are willing to put AA literature in their offices.

CSO: Joni M.: The board meeting will now be held every other month beginning in Sep 2019.

Grapevine: Lindsey (Liz) M.: Many books are available from the GV…not just the monthly magazine. Also, they are cheaper if you have kindle.

MESYPAA: The ISCYPAA Convention for the State of Illinois is going to be held 13-15 March 2020 at the Four Points Sheraton in Fairview Heights IL. More on that later….. Also, there will be an Ice Cream Social on 7 Sep 2019 at the 623 Club. There will be two (2) speakers on the subject of: UNITY. They will commence speaking at 5:30 p.m.

PI/LIT: Peyton M.: She will be assuming this chair in the near future.

Special Events: Connie S.: Just elected. Congrats!!!!

Technology Committee: Rob C.: Two minor changes were made to the on-line W&W; otherwise, all is well.

Treatment Facilities: Lindsey (Liz) M.: Contacted Gateway….they are experiencing much turnover….no issues at this time. Caseyville/Swansea is interesting in having an afternoon meeting. Smarts is requesting a literature rack via Barry S. & possibly some literature. Touchette has a meeting that recently started. Liz say that all TU & SA slots at 7 pm are covered for Sep. She still needs the last two SA’s in Aug (24 & 31) covered. If you can help, please give her a call.


The Rend Lake Campout at Rend Lake is back!!! It will be held 22-25 Aug 2019. The location is the North Sandusky Loop at the Shagbark Group Area. The fees are $20 per camper & $10 per tent. More later….

The September Southern Area Assembly will be hosted by District 20 & will be held on 8 Sep 2019 at the Wesley Village Community Center at 1200 E Grant St in Macomb IL. The registration begins at 8 a.m. with the assembly beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is $5.00 and the lunch is $10.00. The Annual Waterloo Group Picnic will be held 14 Sep 2019 at Konarcik Park in Waterloo IL. The actual address is: 138 Sauthoff Drive in Waterloo IL. The Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. To 5 p.m. The AA speaker will be Mike S of the Kings House Group. Alanon speaker is yet undetermined as of this writing.

The 2019 National AA Technology Workshop (NAATW) will be held 20-22 Sep 2019 in Bowling Green KY. This will be hosted by Area 26, District 3 and the surrounding districts. The 37th Annual Potluck for the Edwardsville Saturday Night Library Group will be held 28 Sep 2019. The location is St Mary’s Church basement at the corner of Notre Dame & Madison in Edwardsville IL. The dinner begins at 7 p.m. With the speaker starting at 8 p.m. The speaker is Mark W. of St Louis MO.
