District 14 met on 11 Nov 2018 at the 623 Club in Belleville. There were 31 attendees. The 16 Dec 2018 meeting will be held at the 623 Club in Belleville IL. As always, the meeting starts at 1 p.m. Hope to see you there.
NOTE: The date of the GSR Meeting for Dec 2018 was changed from 9 Dec to 16 Dec as the Area Assembly will be held on 9 Dec 2018.

The 21st Annual Mens Breakfast was a huge success. At least 337 were in attendance. It is possible that the event will be held in Illinois two years in a row. More on that later…..
The Rule 62 Group in Breese will be closed on 22 Nov 2018 as the meeting location is being used for another function.

Booze News and Where & When’s: Gene E. (618.228.9108): W&W’s: Handed out a large number of W&W’s at the Nov GSR Meeting. The 1st draft of the 2019 Booze News has been completed. A 2nd draft will be ready for the Trusted Servants at the Dec 2018 GSR Meeting. As a result of recent talks with Dist 18, a request to remove the Dist 18 meetings from the Dist 14 Website was honored. After considerable discussion, a decision was made to remove the Dist 18 meetings from the Dist 14 Where & When. BN: All is well.
Bridging the Gap: Dan G.: Passed on phone numbers of people being released to Lisa H. & they were further disseminated for post-confinement contact.
Corrections: Chuck D. & Ed H.: Meetings are still held on Mon & Fri at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at SWICC. Attendance has been zero for the last three mondays. Attended the National Corrections Conference in Portland ME. Maine put on a tremendous event. Over 300 people attended; absolutely fantastic. There were five panels conducted which were really great.
CPC: Terry L.: Assembling a literature order. Contacted two police departments to establish contacts there.
CSO: James R. (618.502.0044): 97 calls & 68 visitors in last month. Need volunteers for Saturday; please call James. District 18 Annual Picnic went well. The CSO Office in under renovation and the size is expected to double.
Grapevine: Dennis M.: Not present
MESYPAA: Next event is scheduled for 15 Dec 2018 at the St John’s UCC Church in Fairview Heights IL. Doors open at 5 pm and the speakers begin at 5:30 pm. Trivia starts at 6 pm. For questions, please contact Jeanette R. at 314.296.8008.

Special Events: Lisa H.: The latest committee meeting was held 3 Nov 2018.
Thanksgiving Eve Dinner = “Gobble Some Gratitude”: The Thanksgiving Eve dinner flyers are coming soon. So far, everything is all set. The location is St Teresa’s Catholic Church at 1201 Lebanon Ave in Belleville IL. The event starts at 5 p.m. & lasts until 10 p.m.
Alkathon 2018: A survey was informally conducted on the question of having a 4 day vs. a 9 day event. The results overwhelmingly favored the 9 day event. Final decision will be made on 17 Nov 2018 at the next Special Events Committee Meeting. The event will be held at St Teresa’s Catholic Church at 1201 Lebanon Ave in Belleville IL & AA will have access to the kitchen.
PA System: A decision was made purchase a PA System for the District to use at events was discussed at length and this will be completed soon.
Technology Committee: Rob C. (314.502.8037): After discussion with Dist 18; the meetings for that district have been removed from the Dist 14 Website as they requested. Working to put a hotlink to Dist 18 on the main page of the website. There will be a link on the Dist 14 Website to Dist 18 so those meetings can easily be accessed. The Dist 14 website has been worked on to improve functionality and increase speed. Results have been very good.
Treatment Facilities: Craig Z. – (618.530.4608): Two meetings still doing good at Gateway on Sunday & Monday. Attendance is on the upswing. All is going well at SMARTS.
Workshop: This has been put on hold until further notice. Paula E. is away until further notice.
The 623 Club will be having a Thanksgiving Dinner & Karaoke on 22 Nov 2018. The event begins at 6 p.m. & last until 10 p.m.
Thirsty Thursday Group will be having a potluck on 29 Nov 2018. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Meeting begins at 7:30 pm. The speaker will be Andrew W. The location is: St Johns UCC at 10207 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights IL.
The SIA 21 Assembly will be held on 9 Dec 2018 in Jacksonville IL at Hamiltons at 110 North East St in Jacksonville IL. This is hosted by Dist 15. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the Assembly beginning at 9 a.m. The registration cost $5 with the lunch buffet costing $10.
The Pre-GSC (General Service Conference) will be held on 27 April 2019 & hosted by Dist 14. The Chair is Adam W. More later on this event…….
