Committee Reports:

Archives: Alex C.: Alex attended the Natl Convention on Archives. It was a great experience. It gave her many thoughts for the archiving of the items for Dist 14. Groups are encouraged to provide the events of a “special” meeting; i.e., who spoke on what subject, why the meeting was special/unique, etc. Also, it you have AA books that you have had for many years & they are falling apart (the binding is degrading), you can call Alex for the procudures to get them rebound.

Booze News and Where & When’s: Gene E.: W & W’s were handed out at the meeting. At the 10 Nov GSR Mtg, the initial draft for the 2020 W&W will be reviewed by the Trusted Servants BN: All is well.

Bridging the Gap: Jeri J.: He is seeking guidance as he has just assumed the job.

Corrections: Chuck D. – & Ed H.: Chuck has submitted the literature order. Attendance at the meetings at SWICC is down due to a change of seasons.

CPC: Eric O.: Contacted the Cement Masons Union about posting info on AA. Waiting to hear back on when this can be done.

CSO: Joni M.: Not present

Grapevine: Robbie M.: Nothing to report.

MESYPAA: The ISCYPAA Convention for the State of Illinois is going to be held 13-15 March 2020 at the Four Points Sheraton in Fairview Heights IL. Flyers have been printed for the event.

PI/LIT: Peyton M.: Received the districts supply that was on-hand. Going through the packages/handouts that Dave had assembled for the clergy and students. Also, have been reviewing the cover letter that went with the packages. All will be updated as needed.

Special Events: Connie S.: The Gobble of Gratitude will not be held in 2019 per vote by the Trusted Servants. Connie will pursue the 2019 Alkathon with the budget allowed to her. She will work on finding a site as an order of first magnitude. We will most certainly keep you posted.

Technology Committee: Rob C.: There were so many topic’s going on that it was truly awesome. Rob developed an app for Dist 14 while he was at the conference and handed out the url for the app at the GSR Mtg. This url will be available on the Dist 14 Website in the near future. The app will continually undergo modification as it evolves. Truly awesome!!!

Treatment Facilities: Liz M.: All meetings are taken & covered through the end of 2019. Dist 14 no longer is covering the tuesday meetings. The next Treatment Committee Meeting is on 9 Nov 2019.

Alkathon 2019: After much discussion, which included reports back from individual groups, the decision to have an Alkathon was put to a vote. The district voted to have the Alkathon in its present format/length for 2019. Connie S. is the Chair of Special Events under which the Alkathon falls. She reported that St Teresa was most unhappy about the condition of the facility after the last Alkathon. As of this writing, that location is NOT available to Dist 14.

How It Works Group Proposal: To make the GSR Preamble conference approved literature. It is hoped that the proposal will have enough merit to be on the agenda of the annual meeting at GSO in New York in 2021. There are several steps to get done before this can happen. The Dist 14 GSR’s thought it was a fantastic idea. We will keep you posted.
